Career counselling and coaching

There can be various reasons to book a career counselling or coaching session.

The counsellor is:

  • a provider of practical information about contemporary labour market and education, as well as a helper to plan one’s longer professional development and discover inner resources;
  • an editor who knows employers’ expectations in terms of portfolios, CVs and cover letters, and who can help simulate job interviews;
  • a professional companion who helps you find different perspectives on your work life that will allow you to transform your initial conundrums into new inspiring beginnings, choose concrete actions amidst an overwhelming range of possibilites, and let your initial fear of the unknown turn into curiosity about what you will soon discover.

The most common topics people would like to discuss with career counsellors are:

  • getting to know yourself better;
  • getting acquainted with different learning and self-improvement opportunities;
  • termination of employment and coping with the resulting changes;
  • career changes;
  • dissatisfaction with work, looking for new challenges;
  • beginning of working life after completing your studies;
  • returning to the labour market after absence;
  • creating a broader picture of what is happening in the labour market.

In connection with counselling, it is also possible to take professional orientation, personality and mental abilities tests.

When and where do the meetings take place?

One counselling or coaching session lasts up to 1.5 hours and can be conducted as face-to-face meetings in the counsellor’s study in Kadriorg or as virtual meetings.

Fee

The price of one counselling session depends on very different circumstances (one-time meeting vs. a longer counselling cycle, testing, benefits based on employment), ranging from 50 to 100 euros. We will agree on the exact price and schedule in the communication prior to the consultation.

Individual development programme

Research shows how those who are most satisfied and motivated by their work are in careers mirroring who they really are, i.e. careers that reflect their true nature and actual passions, that draw on their innate strengths and employ their favourite skills, and that allow them to honour their deeply-held values.

The three phases of the coaching programme: explore, dream, discover, provide a safe framework for planning a new work life through various discussions, exercises, tests, self-analyses and creative tasks.

The first part of the coaching programme helps you (re)discover your own personal characteristics and to analyse what you have done so far. By the end of this stage you will have a clear idea of your personal qualities, interests, knowledge, values, goals and motivators, and you will have mapped out your main strengths and development aspirations.

The second phase of the coaching programme inspires you to expand the idea of a possible future work life you are accustomed to, by dreaming, fantasising and creating personal combinations of different wishes and desires.

In the third phase of the program, we will focus on the practical preparation of the most suitable new career path.

Who is the development programme for?

The programme is designed for people who want to change their work life and wish to thoroughly analyse their plans by bringing up to date their self-acquaintance.

Programme schedule

The coaching programme consists of 10 – 12 meetings of about an hour, and homework between them. During the first phase of the programme, it is advisable to meet once a week, whereas later there could be a slightly longer “settling time” between meetings. An overall duration of no less than 3 months should be envisaged. Depending on the cooperation rhythm suitable for the client, the process can be extended to up to six months.

Where do the meetings take place?

The coaching programme can be carried out both as face-to-face meetings and as virtual meetings.

Fee

The total cost of the development programme is 1,500 euros and it can also be paid in instalments.
